Recently the Foodservice Equipment Distributors Assn. (FEDA) honored Middleby as the recipient of their Spirit of Giving Award. Middleby Chief Commercial Officer Steve Spittle received the award and during his acceptance highlighted several philanthropic efforts including the Middleby partnership with World Central Kitchen in Ukraine and the company commitment to Feeding America as an ongoing corporate partner. This award is a recognition for all Middleby companies. We encourage our global locations to give their time, talents and resources to address needs within the communities where they live and work.

WCK Visits QualServ

Middleby Brand QualServ recently had the pleasure of hosting Matthew Tognarelli and Tony Gurth from  World Central Kitchen  at its Fort Smith, Arkansas headquarters. QualServ had the opportunity to unveil a new mobile food transport vehicle, with Matt and his team providing guidance on what configurations would be most effective in the field. QualServ designed the new vehicle to be used for food preparation, holding and distribution wherever needed in the U.S. Middleby is proud to partner with WCK and support their mission.

Middleby, a global leader in commercial, residential, and industrial foodservice, recently entered into a partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) to provide cooking and ice equipment in Ronald McDonald House programs throughout the U.S. For the last 50 years, the RMHC’s global network of over 26 chapters in 60 countries worldwide has provided resources to families when they are caring for ill and injured children, and over that time RMHC has saved families more than $600 million in lodging and meal costs so that families can focus on what is important – caring for their children. We are deeply committed to supporting RMHC families during mealtime, as food can help bring comfort during a challenging time. Throughout 2024 Middleby will provide in-kind donations of commercial and residential pieces to RMHC Chapters in the U.S. for on-site use. Click here to learn more about this partnership.

Middleby Runs for NIFB

April, 2024

Team Middleby laced up their sneakers and participated in the Northern Illinois Food Bank (NIFB) Fight Hunger 5K. The event supported providing nutritious perishable and non-perishable food to more than 900 food pantries, mobile food truck markets, and soup kitchens. As part of the national Feeding America network, the NIFB serves the Middleby Corporate neighbors in 13 counties by providing 250,000 meals per day. Middleby Supports New Food Depository Kitchen

December, 2023

Middleby is proud to partner with the Greater Chicago Food Depository and the Nourish Project, a years-long expansion to better serve a growing and evolving community. Middleby brands Crown, Southbend, Blodgett, Globe, Viking, U-Line and others are preparing large quantities of nutritious meals for distribution in Chicagoland. The goal of the new kitchen is to make 10,000 meals daily and more than 2.5 million annually from scratch for recipients including older adults and those with specific dietetic needs, disabilities and chronic health conditions. Middleby Corporate Volunteers at Food Bank

The Middleby corporate team recently volunteered at the Northern Illinois Food Bank (NIFB), partner of Feeding America (FA). This team of 21 strong packed 4,890 pounds of food, which will provide more than 4,000 meals across the 13 Illinois counties they serve. This is just one example of an activity at the many domestic FA locations served by our brands and offices across the U.S. At NIFB each week nearly 1,000 volunteers are needed to evaluate, repack, and distribute food. We were proud to be a small part in this critical support to our local community.

Middleby Announces Partnership with The American Red Cross

Middleby Europe Continues Support of Ukraine

Middleby received a Ukrainian flag with signatures of those on the front lines with thanks for all of the humanitarian aid contributions. Pictured is Steve Spittle, CCO with Wiesiek Krol, GM of QualServ Poland. We continue to provide supplies which began as a global initiative launched at the start of the Ukraine war in 2022. Our Poland facility is the collection hub, coordinating the transport for the supplies donated from 21 Middleby divisions across 10 European countries. The aid reaches more than 40 Ukrainian cities. Middleby partners delivered more than 750,000 pounds of cooking equipment, food, clothing, hygienic and medical supplies. The flag was given to Edward Yuzvik, President of Lodmar, the Middleby distribution partner in the region.

Middleby is proud to support WINGS. Recently we sponsored their annual Purple Tie Ball, and showed up in full support of their efforts. The mission of the Chicago-area WINGS Program, Inc. is to provide housing, integrated services, education and advocacy to end domestic violence. The organization provides a pathway to independence for adults and children who are escaping from domestic violence and providing the tools and support necessary to ensure new lives can be built. Middleby Milers Crush Chase Corporate Challenge

We were proud to support the J.P. Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge, lacing up our running shoes in downtown Chicago. We love this outing as it brings a large group from “Middleby Illinois” together. Attendees from Middleby corporate, Middleby Marshall, Taylor, Cozzini, Middleby Packaging and Carter-Hoffmann cheered each other on to complete the 3.5 mile, run, walk or combination. This event is the world’s largest corporate running event that takes place across eight countries and six continents raising millions for outstanding causes while promoting work wellness.

Team Middleby Visits Cafe Momentum Dallas

Recently, many members of Team Middleby were in Dallas for the Women’s Foodservice Forum. During their visit, they had the opportunity to dine at Cafe Momentum Dallas, a restaurant with a unique mission. The team was warmly welcomed by the founder, Chef Chad Houser, who shared the inspirational story behind the organization. Cafe Momentum is more than just a restaurant; it is a place where young people who have been through the juvenile justice system can learn important life skills and gain work experience. As a proud partner of Cafe Momentum, Middleby is excited to continue supporting the organization and being a part of its future. Taylor Hosts University of Illinois-Chicago Business Students

Thanks to Team Taylor for being wonderful hosts to University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) business students last week at their Rockton, Ill. facility. Touring the production facility, the students saw the Taylor manufacturing team in action making innovative product in use at restaurants they know and love. They also learned the importance of long-standing business relationships and customer service. We appreciate the future business entrepreneurs from UIC and Professor Miller for making the trek northwest to experience first-hand the Taylor success story.

The day is the world’s largest corporate running event that takes place across eight countries and six continents. The mission: serve as a catalyst between work and wellness while raising millions in funds for charity.

Middleby Supports World Central Kitchen in Ukrainian Aid

Middleby is proud to support World Central Kitchen in their Ukrainian aid efforts. Pictured is our Middleby Poland facility which is working on a large WCK mobile kitchen. Soon the truck will be feeding people where there is a great need. We are grateful to have the opportunity to support the impactful and widespread WCK humanitarian efforts.

WCK began serving hot meals within hours of the initial invasion of Ukraine, and quickly set up at the eight border crossings with Poland. Since then, WCK’s Chefs for Ukraine response has grown rapidly, and is distributing nourishing food and fresh meals across the region, including Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, and Spain. In addition to WCK’s field kitchen, WCK is working with local restaurants, caterers, and food trucks to provide fresh and comforting meals at border crossings, shelters, and other locations along their journey. In addition to hot meals, WCK is distributing bulk food product including produce and dry goods to restaurant partners in Ukraine to supplement the strained food supply chain.

We are proud to contribute to recent kitchen upgrades at the RMHC locations serving Lurie Children’s Hospital and the University of Chicago Hospital. The Middleby Corporation announced that it has become a corporate partner of Feeding America ®. The Feeding America network is the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, working to connect people with food and end hunger.
